The breed is exceptional in retrieving wounded game. It will follow the prey persistently, take it carefully in its soft mouth, and bring it to the owner. Labrador Retrievers should be trained from an early age. It is important to obedience train the dog at the first months of its life. By the age of nine months, little Labradors can accompany their owners at the hunt. Labrador Retrievers are quick learners and acquire most of hunting skills by the age of twelve months.
